“Starship Down” is episode seven of season four of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
The Defiant is in the Gamma Quadrant and Sisko and Quark are negotiating with the minister of a race that is trading with the Federation. Because of the Dominion, the goods are being transported on Ferengi ships, and the minister is unhappy with all the surcharges that have been added – added by the Ferengi, of course. The minister is not happy.
During the negotiations, two Jem’Hadar ships arrive, and the minister’s ship flees into a gas giant to escape. The Defiant follows, in order to protect it.
The Defiant is hit, and Sisko badly injured. Dr Bashir and Dax wind up trapped in an area on a deck that has otherwise been evacuated. Quark and the minister end up stuck in the mess hall with the nose of an unexploded torpedo sticking through the hull.
