“Crossfire” is episode thirteen of season four of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
First Minister Shakaar, Kira’s old Resistance commander who was seen in the episode bearing his name, is coming to DS9 to negotiate with the Federation regarding Bajor’s application to become a member. Odo has to deal with the minister’s security, and there has been a threat against his life by a Cardassian extremist group. Odo and Worf bond over their love of order and for things being just so.
Shakaar’s visit causes other problems for Odo, personal ones. Odo has harboured feelings for Major Kira for some time, but hasn’t expressed them. Now, it seems that Shakaar has similar feelings for the major, and is more willing to deal with them than Odo is with his.
