“Revelations, Part 1” is episode twelve of season one of Sanctuary.
This episode opens with a drone firing a missile into the snow in a remote, mountainous region on the Canada/Alaska border. The bomb detonates and a green gas is released. An Abnormal gets affected by something, and then approaches a couple of humans. The humans know him, and aren’t afraid of him – but for some reason he decides to attack and kill them with an axe.
At the Sanctuary, they are following up reports of Abnormal aggression against humans. There have been quite a few of them. Then John Druitt turns up at the Sanctuary, and he has the fragments from the missile which detonated. There’s a bioweapon inside the device, which has been released. The Cabal are believed, and actually are, the ones responsible for this.
The fourth member of the five (as revealed in “The Five”), Dr. John Watson, the head of the London Sanctuary, also arrives. His gift from the vampire blood was enhanced intelligence (it’s not clear how he survived so long) – and he also was the inspiration for a fictional character. Not Dr. Watson, but Sherlock Holmes himself.
Doctors Magnus and Watson are struggling to come up with a cure for the disease, but there is another possible cure. However, there are problems with this – it requires all of the five to accomplish it. One of them, Griffin, is already dead, and Druitt may have killed Tesla in “The Five”. Then Bigfoot gets infected.
Druitt and Will go off on one mission, and Ashley and Henry another. The Cabal are running a different game than the one they think.
The story continues in the season finale, “Revelations, Part 2”.
