“Haunted” is episode eleven of season two of Sanctuary.
The Sanctuary is treating a number of Abnormals – empaths – who have been rescued from their ship after it caught fire following a boiler explosion. The rescues are being done by Druitt, who hasn’t been seen since “Eulogy”, who has been using his teleportation ability to bring the empaths off the ship. After the final empath is rescued, following a lot of teleportation, Druitt sees blood on his hands and starts acting a little odd.
One of the rescued empaths speaks to Druitt in a hallway. She seems to sense something inside him, and he takes her words very badly, drawing a knife. The empath is later found dead with a slit throat. Druitt used to be Jack the Ripper, but Tesla did some shock therapy on him that stopped his violent tendencies. Magnus was worried that the cure was only a temporary fix and that Druitt would eventually revert to character, and it seems it has. Turning him loose hunting down and killing the Cabal may have had a bad effect.
Magnus confronts Druitt in a hallway in the Sanctuary, and he admits that he has been killing for a while. He attacks Magnus, and she is forced to use a energy weapon on him multiple times, which kills him. Magnus decides to resuscitate Druitt – their relationship is complicated – as she says that he deliberately forced her to kill him.
During the resuscitation there is a power surge, which results in Henry having to reboot the computers One of the empaths – none of whom speak English – attempts to warn Will about an evil, but he doesn’t understand. Druitt is escorted to a holding cell then, when Henry reboots the system, the entire system starts going haywire and the Sanctuary is put in lockdown. Magnus is trapped with Druitt in a cell, Bigfoot and Kate are stuck in a lift, Henry is stuck in the OR with a patient and Will is stuck just outside the OR.
The patient in the OR is the one who tried to warn Will, and she keeps giving more warnings. Henry can’t get back into the system and everything is acting rather odd. Including Druitt, but in a different way to earlier. He seems a lot calmer. Something seems to be attacking the Sanctuary, but what? Everyone is cut off, but nothing suggests an outside attack.
