Sanctuary – Hangover

“Hangover” is episode twelve of season three of Sanctuary.

Magnus enters the Sanctuary through the unlocked front door and immediately spots an overturned chair. It looks like a barricade has been constructed as well, so Magnus checks the security panel to find out that security is inactive. So, drawing a gun, she proceeds through the Sanctuary, calling our for the others.

None of them are answering and the place is a mess, with wreckage strewn everywhere, including a spent stunner and a medical trolley with restraints that appear to have been broken. A door has a deadfall trap positioned over it and Magnus finally comes across Henry. He’s a bit of a mess, has a possible concussion and doesn’t remember what happened. Henry’s in no fit state either, and passes out again.

When Henry comes to again, he sees what a mess the place is in and asks what happened. Which is pretty much what Magnus would like to know. It also seems that Henry has lost a day, so Magnus asks him what he remembers prior to the blackout.

Henry had been called into Magnus’ officer where she was videoconferencing with a woman before giving the others instructions. Magnus is heading out to brief the other Heads of House on Hollow Earth and the woman she was talking to is the chief of the UN security team, who wants to do a pro forma inspection of the Sanctuary following recent events. Magnus wants the place spotless when she returns, before the UN representative arrives, and the others say that she has nothing to worry about and that everything is under control. Famous last words. Magnus is also told she won’t recognise the place when she returns. Well, that much is true. The UN representative is coming Thursday and it is now Thursday and the place certainly isn’t spotless.

Henry goes and deals with a new Abnormal that has just arrived, a mollox. One that doesn’t seem as cute as it looks for it promptly attacks Henry, who is finally able to stun it. Then, nothing. Magnus, in the present, says that such behaviour is out of character for a mollox as they are not violent and not even carnivorous.

Video is down, but Henry plans to try and restore it. Only he’s been locked out of the mainframe. When Henry finally gets in, it seems Will had locked him out. And tried to delete the hard drive. Henry recovers some video footage which shows him chasing after Will, and then shooting him. Henry has no memory of that at all. There is no body where he shot Will either.

Next to be found is Kate, who is gagged, tied up and in a closet. She, also, lacks memory, but adds a few new elements to the recollection of what happened. As people are gradually found, it seems that everyone went crazy and attacked the others, so they need to find out what caused it. Magnus suspects an infection, but everyone seems fine, and there is also the inspection happening soon, which is inconvenient to say the least. Time is limited to find out why people went crazy and discover what is actually going on.
