“Like a Power” is episode two of season one of Powers.
In the previous episode, “Pilot”, Calista, a powers wannabe, desperate to awaken the powers she’s convinced she possesses, threw herself off a roof so that she’d start to fly on the way down. Walker had thrown himself off after her, hoping his own power of flight would come back. Neither was successful; if Retro Girl hadn’t caught them both, they’d have ended badly. Retro Girl, who previously had a relationship with Walker back when he was Diamond, wasn’t impressed with his behaviour, and flew off with Calista.
Walker seems to have decided to spend the entire night on the roof. Pilgrim and three other members of the Powers Division take down a Power – her first – whilst he is absent. Which basically means to attack and keep attacking until the Power is down. Retro Girl now has Calista, and Walker is trying to get hold of her. Why was Retro Girl there anyway, in time to save them both? Johnny Royalle is making more of the drug, Slay – by the looks of it, from his own blood. He also looks to be launching a new club for Powers kids. Which will make it pretty obvious that he isn’t dead – and he’s going to make his presence known in a very public, and deliberately provocative, manner.
Despite the fact that Walker knows Retro Girl’s address, he and Pilgrim are going to see Olympia’s widow instead. Who is rather different. Then they check out the popup club where Olympia was, before finally looking up Retro Girl. Walker knows Royalle is up to something, but he has no idea what.
