Kiss Me First – You Can Never Go Home

“You Can Never Go Home” is episode six of season one of Kiss Me First and the season finale.

In the previous episode, “The Witch is Coming”, those of Red Pill who were still alive, Leila, Tess, Tippy and Kyle, made it to the place that Adrian had told them to go to. Leila wanted to take Tess away, but failed, and Adrian is still playing games. With real people. Adrian has still not been seen, only heard, but it would appear that he is the son of Ruth Palmer. The woman who founded Azana. Adrian’s latest thing appeared to be to get the others to fight each other – he was having them take ‘red pills’; at least, Tippy and Tess were taking them. Adrian was also trying to convince the others that Leila was behind everything Tippy tried attacking Leila with a knife, but Leila knocked her out. Kyle went after Tess and tried to drown her, but Leila stabbed him.

This episode begins with a bit of a disconnect from the previous episode. Someone, presumably Leila, is in a dark place, strapped down. There is a tube in her arm and her blood goes through it, and she falls unconscious.

Jonty is breaking into Leila’s house through the back window. Tess is in the house and she wants to know where Leila is, as she is missing. Jonty suggests calling the cops, but Tess says that Adrian is too smart, she herself is sectionable and Jonty is too gullible. Because Adrian convinced him that he was Leila’s father, and wanted Jonty to get close to Leila to keep an eye on her.

The first step involves Jonty taking Tess to Ruth Palmer’s house, where he took Leila in “Friends Let Us Down”. Not that either Jonty or Tess know whose house it is; Jonty thought it was Leila’s father’s. When Tess enters, she recognises Ruth Palmer. Who says that she never had any children. Tess shows her the box that Leila received – supposedly from her. She recognises it as a base protocol box, one of only four left. And Ruth did not send it to Leila.

When Leila comes too, she has a sense band around her neck and Adrian appears to her. Just as he does in Azana. So he isn’t real; he’s what looks to be a hologram. Is he real at all? He uses the sense band to effectively torture Leila.

It seems that Jack was not killed by Kyle, but he is in a hospital, by the looks of it hurt badly and in a coma.

Tess and Jonty are approached by representatives of Azana, who want to deal with the problem. Only they think that Leila is the problem. They have video of her visiting Denier the day before he blew himself up in “Off the Rails” and visiting Calumny’s mother after the he killed himself in “She Did Something”. They also have testimony from Tippy, who claims that Leila is the one behind everything.

Leila needs to try and show that Adrian is the one responsible, but will she even be believed? Everything does not appear to be tidied up by the end.
