“The Runaway Bridesmaid” is episode thirteen of season two of Harley Quinn and the season finale.
The mayor of Gotham is giving the key to the city to the superheroes who defeated the supervillains. Gordon is not impressed when the mayor gives the final key to himself, not Gordon.
A guard is checking the inmates of Arkham Asylum; after the previous episode, “Lovers’ Quarrel”, Dr Psycho and Riddler are both inside. As is Harley Quinn, but she’s just there to be alone with her thoughts. Once she’s done, she’ll break out.
Ivy is on Kite Man’s kite, apologising to him for what she did with Harley, which Psycho broadcast to everyone. She wants him to land at the old Gotham corn factory. That’s where they will get married. Kite Man thought the Condiment King had their space. Ivy explains that Condiment King gave them his place and had to leave Gotham indefinitely. No-one knows if he’ll be back. But probably not. She neglects to mention that Frank the Plant ate Condiment King and his bride-to-be.
Gordon is escorting Two-Face to Arkham Asylum. Once there, Two-Face suggests that Gordon shouldn’t be the one getting the key to the city, but the one handing them out. Run for mayor. Two-Face will handle the campaign from behind bars, just like a real campaign manager. Gordon isn’t interested. But for the sake of argument, how would he manage it? Two-Face says Gordon needs to do something heroic. He’s got a list of the villains attending Ivy and Kite Man’s wedding. Gordon decides he could crash the wedding and arrest them all.
Clayface, king Shark and Frank head to see Harley. She doesn’t want to go to the wedding. Then Two-Face approaches her. If Harley breaks him out, he will tell her what’s going to ruin Ivy’s wedding. She does and he explains Gordon’s – Two-Face’s – plan to crash the wedding.
Gordon himself tells his cops his plan. They are reluctant, but he brings them around. He has a plan. To replace the staff and the officiating priest.
King Shark and Clayface are chatting. Clayface is going to perform later and wants to impress Catwoman’s date. Tim Burton, he says (it isn’t). Harley Quinn shows up and sees Gordon, but is dragged away by the photographer before she can confront him, and has photos taken with the other bridesmaids. And asks if she can borrow Catwoman’s dress given Catwoman isn’t wearing it. Then sees Gordon, and goes to punch him out. Unfortunately, she got the wrong person. The photographer faints as Ivy shows up. Ivy is not happy.
Harley knows that Gordon is going to ruin the wedding. But no-one else really believes her.
