“Riddler U” is episode two of season two of Harley Quinn.
Harley is complaining because she can’t see her kill board due to lack of light. Ivy points out there are only six people on it and two were dead before she made the list. Psycho has made candles. Definitely not from rendered zebra fat. Clayface says no-one has reliable power. Except an advert comes on a big screen out in the city for Riddler U. Which has power and clean water. Harley says they will go to college, kill Riddler and take it all.
Harley comes up with a plan. Basically, go to college, kill Riddler. Clayface waxes philosophical about college. Ivy tells him he’s not coming with. No, but their boo Stephanie is! Ivy does have an Indigo Girls poster she needs somewhere to put up. King Shark thinks they may not survive until the return. Given a mouse came out of the tap and died. It’s suggested they get a water filter.
Kite Man flies Harley and Ivy in; Ivy appreciates his banter far more than Harley does. Inside, they join a tour and Harley asks the guide, Babs, where the Riddler is. Babs doesn’t remember them from the beginning of the tour. She definitely doesn’t remember the really distinct names Harley gives them. ‘Steph’ shows up and says they’re with her. Harley wants to kill Clayface. Ivy points out that he/she does seem popular, though.
King Shark and Psycho have a water filter and are taking it back to their camel-pulled cart when cop cars show up. Except they’re Two-Face’s goons. The goons open fire. The camel doesn’t make it.
Ivy wants to know where Riddler is so they can thank him for letting them in. Steph says it’s not like they’re going to kill him. Babs says the Riddler is a busy man. You never see him anywhere. Yet it’s like he’s everywhere. Making sure everyone has clean water and power.
Protesters are seen briefly before being carted off by Riddler’s goons. According to Clayface, only the Riddler is allowed to ask questions. Harley wants him to find out where Riddler is. After he’s gone, Harley wonders where to even start looking for Riddler. Then spots him, tackles him into water and beats him senseless. To find out it’s Jiminy Riddles, the Riddler U mascot. And Harley’s makeup has run and Babs realises who she is.
Harley tries running after Babs, but she escapes. Quite proficiently. Ivy arrives and points out Harley’s makeup has run. Yes, and the surprising agile tour guide made her. Harley wants to go and kill her. Ivy suggests find. College Ivy is no fun.
They find Babs’ room and get in. After a bit of misunderstanding, Babs explains that she wants someone to take down Riddler. Students are disappearing and she’s sure the Riddler is behind it. Then Commissioner Gordon enters. He’s Babs’ – Barbara Gordon’s – father and it seems has been living with her after “New Gotham”. He snuck in. Babs thinks Riddler is in a frat house. People go in and don’t come out. Ivy wants to know how that’s different to a normal frat house. Babs isn’t sure yet. But there’s a party tonight and she has wristbands. Then, of course, there’s the matter of who Barbara Gordon becomes in the long run.
