“A Fight Worth Fighting For” is episode eleven of season two of Harley Quinn.
The episode opens with Frank the Plant doing a recap as a viewer. Apparently, he tests well and the producers try to get him in as much as possible. This is also an attempt to get an award for the series. Which continues at the end.
In the previous episode, “Dye Hard”, Harley dropped Joker into acid again to make him into, well, the Joker again. Because Joker had the Queen of Fables’ storybook in which the Justice League is trapped, and Harley needs the League to save Gotham from Psycho. Harley pulls the recreated Joker out of the acid – and then slaps him repeatedly, demanding to know where the book is.
At the mall, Psycho is unleashing the Para Demons on Gotham, then wants the Riddler to get hold of Darkseid. Riddler, who is spending a lot of time admiring his muscles, says he doesn’t have an interdimensional data plan. So, Psycho uses his own phone.
Joker says he should kill Harley. Harley tells him the book was in Wayne Tower when it collapsed. Joker wonders what happened to him. Then starts to remember. Being pulled out from the rubble by a nurse, Bethany, when getting into a relationship with her. Joker says he isn’t helping Harley; he spent six months as a suburban dad because of her. Harley says he will help; she implanted a bomb in Joker’s head and she has the clicker. Joker agrees to go to Bethany’s house.
Batman finds footage of the reborn Joker and Harley together and says they must be behind this. It’s time for Batman to return. Alfred says no. He needs to disinfect the Batsuit first.
Ivy and Kite Man are with their wedding planner. Kite Man suggests postponing the wedding, at least until the unpredictable flying demons are dealt with. Ivy says no. She’s ready to move forward and leave some things behind. Things that might catch up. She wants to marry Kite Man and everything. Kite Man thinks this is romantic; he doesn’t notice that Ivy sounds less than convincing. Then the wedding planner is taken by a Para Demon. This doesn’t seem to faze her.
Joker and Harley arrive at Bethany’s house and knock. She answers with a gun. Bethany is told it isn’t what it looks like. To her it looks like Joker and Harley Quinn are there to rob her. Harley says two out of three isn’t bad. Joker explains they are there for the book. Bethany wants him to elaborate. Joker explains how he was the man she was seeing. And that he knows the gun isn’t loaded. Bethany has a go at him in Spanish. It doesn’t sound polite. Bethany doesn’t take this well and throws the book. Which is caught by a Para Demon, who flies away.
They now need the book back. And Joker is starting to reconsider his time spent with Bethany. Maybe it wasn’t all bad at that. Harley is missing Ivy and Ivy doesn’t look to be quite over Harley as yet.
