“That Old Black Magic” is episode eight of season one of Farscape.
The crew visit a planet looking for some medicine for Rygel, when Crichton is approached by someone who oddly knows a lot about him. Especially as Crichton is not exactly native to the region.
Crichton is teleported into the presence of someone with powers that seem magical, who says he can get Crais to talk with him.
Crais has been summoned back by his commanders, a command he plans to ignore, when the same person transports him, and says he can give Crichton to him – for a price. Obviously this person has his own agenda.
The two end up fighting, in an arena that seems to be in the mind, but the wounds are real, for the sorcerer, Maldis, lives on pain and suffering. Zhaan may be able to defeat Maldis, but at a price.
I’ve actually seen part of this one before, I remember seeing Rygel’s ceremony of passage.
