“Flatline” is episode nine of season eight of the new Doctor Who.
At the beginning of the episode, a man is calling the police, saying that something is everywhere, before he is snatched away.
The TARDIS materialises a bit off its target destination (something that used to be way more frequent, and way more off target in the classic series – you were lucky if it materialised on the right planet) on the way to drop Clara off. Only the TARDIS has also shrunk in size – externally. They seem to be spending a lot of time visiting Earth at the moment.
The Doctor sends Clara off to investigate but, when she returns, the TARDIS has shrunk even more, and the Doctor can’t get out.
Apparently, people on the estate have been disappearing. Some new twists, and some new monsters who can be quite creepy and are definitely not one dimensional.
I remember when the old-school companions were not exactly useful. The new ones seem a little too competent by comparison; it makes you wonder how the Doctor can even survive without them.
