“The Spider’s Stratagem” is episode twelve of season four of Andromeda.
The Andromeda Ascendant intercepts a ship piloted by a known, but unconvicted, smuggler – an attractive female one at that, so she naturally takes a shine to Dylan. The ship appears to be carrying life forms, but what it actually has is a lot of rather unusual body armour; armour that is, at least partly, alive.
Beka and Rhade take some of the armour to where it was going to be sold, whilst Dylan and the Andromeda go to where it was made. Dylan finds something that he says resembles an old fairy tale of Tarn-Vedra. Never mind Tarn-Vedra; it resembles an old fairy tale of Earth.
The armour being alive causes problems, and Beka doesn’t trust Rhade because he’s a Nietzschean.
