“Music of a Distant Drum” is episode thirteen of season one of Andromeda.
Tyr crashes the Eureka Maru into a planet owned by the Drago-Kazov pride of Nietzscheans. A pride that he is less than fond of. The occupants of the planet, who are effectively slaves to the Drago-Kazov, whom they call Dragons, are less than fond of Nietzscheans overall, not just that particular pride (indeed, many who aren’t Nietzscheans don’t seem that fond of them in general. As they destroyed civilisation, perhaps not a surprise).
What doesn’t help is that Tyr has lost all of his personal memories. He can’t remember who he is. He can’t even remember his own name. He has done something to annoy the Drago-Kazov though – and they really want to find him.
Whilst Tyr regenerates his memories, the Andromeda goes looking for him when he is overdue. The Drago-Kazov also arrive, provoking a fight. Tyr acts in a way unlike the rest of the Nietzscheans. Possibly in a way that’s un-Nietzschean.
