“Exalted Reason, Resplendent Daughter” is episode ten of season four of Andromeda.
The Andromeda Ascendant goes in pursuit of a notorious pirate, but fails to catch him. When they approach a nearby world, they are attacked, because the ruler of a member empire of the Systems Commonwealth – it really has grown a lot – attacked the planet, believing them to be in league with the pirate, who had attacked a freighter on which his daughter, the crown princess, was travelling.
Beka and Rhade go looking for the pirate, and a secret of Beka’s past is revealed. They manage to find the princess – still alive, despite what her father thinks – but she doesn’t want to be rescued, as she has fallen in love with said pirate. Stockholm Syndrome (although they call it by a different name) or something else? Especially as a space station is sabotaged and blows up, and there were people on it who had information related to the case.
