“Belly Of The Beast” is episode nineteen of season two of Andromeda.
Dylan and Trance are taking the Eureka Maru to a planet that’s described as being very primitive (by the sounds of it, at about our current level of technology rather than, say, in the Stone Age) to reassure them that the mythical giant space beast that is going to eat their planet is just a myth. The Andromeda Ascendant meanwhile stays in the outer system.
When the Maru approaches the planet it turns out to have huge scars in it (the planet, not the ship), as if a giant space beast had eaten chunks out of it. This is not normal. The Andromeda then encounters said mythical giant space beast, which is not mythical. The giant and space parts of the description are accurate, and the beast swallows the Andromeda.
They have to get the Andromeda out before it is digested.
