“Time Will Tell” is episode one of season two of Warehouse 13.
In the season one finale, “MacPherson”, the titular character had been captured and brought back to the Warehouse, to be bronzed and stored there himself. It seemed that everything was a success, but Mrs Frederic had a thought that something was wrong and had her driver turn back.
It seems that she was right to be concerned. MacPherson appeared to have planned to be captured, because the capture would mean that he would be given something to nullify the material that prevented his entry. Leena, appearing to be Claudia, released MacPherson from his captivity – why is not known yet – and MacPherson himself left the Warehouse, activating the explosive devices in the tunnel that led into the building, causing it to explode with Artie inside it. Myka and Pete are still in the Warehouse, but currently trapped.
This episode opens with Myka and Pete rushing down to the wreckage that was the access tunnel and they don’t think he could have survived the explosion. Leena, meanwhile, is releasing someone else from the bronze sector.
As Pete and Myka watch there is some sort of lightning and dust and then Artie reassembles. It turns out that Artie had the Phoenix. The side effect of the Phoenix is that someone else will die. At which point Pete starts choking. On dust. However, in Mrs Frederic’s car her driver starts choking. Pete, Myka and Artie exit the Warehouse to find Mrs Frederic’s car on fire. She is lying by the side of the road.
Leena takes whoever she un-bronzed to MacPherson, using what looks like another exit from the Warehouse. She then returns – the video showed Claudia helping MacPherson, not Leena, so the others likely don’t know yet that she was the one who betrayed them.
Mrs Frederic is taken to a military hospital in South Dakota. Artie is waiting beside Mrs Frederic’s bed when she tells him to find Claudia and Joshua. Then he wakes up; he was asleep in the chair next to the bed. Claudia is missing and Leena suddenly gets a flash of herself as Claudia. So it looks as if she doesn’t actually know what’s she’s done. Claudia has gone to CERN where Joshua is working. Pete also doesn’t believe Claudia is guilty, despite the evidence. Artie is going to Switzerland and wants the others to go through the Warehouse to find out what MacPherson did. They discover that another bronze is missing – H. G. Wells. The bronze sector is where the people who would be more dangerous than history’s known monsters are stored, so just why was Wells stored there? He is also not even on the list of residents. Wells’ home museum was also burgled in London but nothing was taken. Pete and Myka head to London.
Claudia is warning Joshua about MacPherson; she also isn’t sure that she is innocent. Claudia is heading to Geneva, as is Artie, but MacPherson is already there.
MacPherson would seem to want something connected to H. G. Wells. But what? And why was he in CERN? Pete gets a bit of a shock when he and Myka finally meet Wells.
Given all the things that Wells wrote about, perhaps some of it was less than fictional. MacPherson is playing a complicated game and a new plot thread opens up.
