“Timelash” is episode eighteen of season one of UFO.
At SHADO Control, everything is normal until a dishevelled Commander Straker starts smashing the equipment up. An attempt is made to subdue him, but he gets away and leaves through his office. miss Ealand is surprised to see him. He tells her no-one is to come through the door. Heading outside, he tackles a man and checks his watch. Then runs through the studios, looking at various people before coming across a dead SHADO operative in a car. Then finds an unconscious Colonel Lake on a roof before Foster and security guards catch up with him. Straker has some kind of drug on him.
In medical, Dr Jackson says Straker is unresponsive; physical and mental shock. General Henderson gives the go-ahead for a treatment. Miss Ealand tells Foster that Straker left to pick Colonel Lake up but never returned. Everyone else confirms that Straker wasn’t seen returning to SHADO. Colonel Lake is now conscious. She remembers Straker picking her up at the airport and being in the car, then nothing, due to the blow she took.
Straker is coming around and Jackson gives him a drug. Straker says they murdered time. Then explains he was in the car picking up Lake. They see something and decide it’s a UFO. They can’t contact SHADO Control, then the UFO starts shooting at them. They’re bathed in a glow, then the UFO heads away.
Arriving at SHADO, when the pass through the gate, it’s suddenly daylight again. They come across a number of people Straker was looking at when he was running, all of them now frozen, with objects immovable in the air. In SHADO Control, everyone is frozen. Except one, the dead man seen earlier in the car. Everything is frozen in time and only things that weren’t moving are not. And the effect is starting to affect Lake and Straker as well.
They’re in SHADO with a UFO that has frozen time and a traitor who can control time. And they need to deal with the UFO before it can align its time to the rest.
