“When Harry Met Harry…” is episode six of season four of The Flash.
Ralph is whining to Barry about how Barry has ruined his life when the same mugger from “Power Outage” tries to mug them. Barry thinks this is a teaching occasion, and he talks to Ralph about dealing with the mugger. Who gets annoyed that his victims aren’t paying attention and ends up shooting Ralph, then gets hit by the bullet rebounding back on him. Then again. Barry ends up taking the mugger to hospital.
The woman finds what is presumably DeVoe and says they need to talk. He makes a reply, then goes through the conversation that leads to it, which he’s already anticipated. Apparently, there’s a chance that Team Flash will discover his identity sooner than anticipated.
Barry arrives at the lab; Caitlin, Cisco and Harry have found nothing on DeVoe. Harry says they need more brainpower. Ralph arrives and offers his. Harry said they needed more. He’ll call his friends. Yes, he has friends. Cisco asked him to make new friends, that was a task and Harry completes tasks.
They need to find the rest of the bus metas and Barry asks Ralph what he remembers. Not much, as he was between drunk and hungover. Caitlin suggests hypnosis. Which means they need a hypnotist.
Iris and Barry take Ralph to see a Dr Finkel. She hypnotises Ralph. He remembers speaking to the Weeper from the previous episode, “Girls Night Out”, the measurements of the women and that one had a jacket with a bison on it.
That woman is watching a man leave a building at night. He’s attacked by something.
In the morning, Joe and Barry examine the body. The man had a briefcase attached to his hand. Most of the briefcase and the hand are missing. Barry says it looks like an animal attack, but the animal that could do it doesn’t exist. They see a statue of a stone cat. Which has blood on its jaws.
Cisco finds Harry, who is summoning his friends by holoprojector from other Earths. Harrison Wolfgang Wells, H. Lothario Wells and Wells 2.0. And, briefly, the wizard Wells the Grey. When Cisco told Harry to make friends, he didn’t mean with himself. But maybe the Council of Wells will work. Except they don’t want Cisco around.
Caitlin reports the statue is normal, but there are traces of dark matter in it. The bus meta can bring inanimate objects to life. The dead man is an auctioneer who was carrying one of a number of Native American artefacts when he was attacked, but they don’t know which. Iris says maybe they do; there’s a bison necklace. It’s in three pieces, one of which is in the hands of a private collector.
Cisco has a suit prototype for Ralph. It looks like a piece of cloth. Ralph is not impressed.
The bison woman is with the collector; she told him she’s writing a book as she’s Sioux. And takes offence at how he handles an artefact. She calls herself the Black Bison and animates a suit of armour to attack him, then takes the second piece of the necklace. Barry and Ralph arrive, but Barry has to take down the suit of armour first and Black Bison gets away.
Black Bison is Mina Chaytan, a former professor of cultural anthropology and activist. She can animate statues that look like people or animals.
The Council of Wells is not initially proving to be much help. Barry has to explain to Ralph that they protect people first, go after bad guys second.
