“Fallen” is episode ten of season three of The 100.
In the previous episode, “Stealing Fire”, Clarke was given the Flame – A.L.I.E. 2.0 – by Titus to stop Ontari from becoming the new Commander (as she’d killed the other options). There is one of the Nightbleeders left, and their location is apparently known by Lincoln. Which is a bit unfortunate, as Pike has just executed Lincoln (the biggest character to die for some time – he’d been in the series longer than Lexa and definitely won’t be coming back). Titus killed himself rather than help Ontari, so she has decided to proclaim herself Commander anyway because, as she points out, most people don’t know she isn’t the true Commander. Only Roan (who is helping Ontari, although he doesn’t seem to like her) and Murphy know, and Murphy appears to have switched sides. Again. He did say to Ontari that he’s a survivor, so it’s entirely possible, in fact probable, that he will is only on her side to stay alive and will gladly switch again if needed.
This episode opens with Bellamy chained up in the cave as the others who managed to escape arrive. Octavia is really not happy, and takes out at least some of her anger on her brother. Who is at least willing to let her. Murphy is chained up in Polis, although he is also still alive. Roan is not there but Ontari is, and Murphy immediately starts spreading doubts in her mind. Then an ambassador enters and says that they are ready for the ceremony of the names. The names of all the past Commanders. Which sounds awfully like something only someone with the Flame inside her would have the knowledge of. Murphy manages to end the situation by lying, whereas Ontari would have slaughtered everyone. Then he offers to help her with the ceremony.
In Arkadia Raven is building something whilst she tries to ignore Alie. She wants to block Alie out using sensory overload. Jasper really managed, completely by accident, to put doubts in Raven’s mind. This doesn’t really work though. Raven wants Abby and Jasper’s help to remove Alie’s influence, as she thinks she’s found a way. Raven’s behaviour is puzzling Alie – so Jaha suggests that Alie give Raven pain to force her to come around again – and to banish free will. Abby is also a target.
Monty is approached by his mother who tells him to leave as Pike knows he betrayed them. Monty’s actions really put her in a bit of a spot, as she is a devoted follower of Pike, but Monty is still her son, and she wants him to live. So he heads out to look for Kane and the others.
Deceits and deceptions abound and Alie and Jaha start taking control of Arkadia.
