“Waiting for Superman” is episode fourteen of season two of Superman and Lois and the season finale.
Chrissy is broadcasting a message with the authorisation of the DoD, stating that the merging planets are real and they will be forced to merge with their other selves and, for the first time in 20 years, they can’t wait for Superman as he’s powerless. Stay at home with your loved ones. Afterwards, she tries to ring Lois.
Lana is trying to get hold of Kyle. She and the girls are going to go out looking for him.
In the previous episode, “Worlds War Bizarre”, the Kents and Natalie shifted over to the other world. However, there’s some stuff from their world in it. Natalie’s tablet is there and she tries to contact John Henry. The shifting stuff seems random and it will continue until the two worlds become one. And full of parasites, according to Lois. Clark reassures her they won’t let that happen. She agrees he’s right; they just have to figure out how.
Natalie heads outside and Jonathan and Jordan join her. She can’t get hold of her father and she should be able to connect to his suit. When Natalie’s mother died, she never got a chance to say goodbye. She thinks she won’t with her father either. Then his suit connects.
Natalie tells the others she thinks her father is in the void and he needs her escape pod. The transmission was broken up. Tal-Rho arrives; he says his return was necessary. Then everyone but Lois flicks back.
In the other world, Sam calls out to her. He pulled over, then his jeep vanished. They need to get back, but aren’t sure how to do it, and nearly everyone is brainwashed by Ally. Lois says Chrissy helped Anderson, though.
The other Lois flicked back with the rest of them. Natalie is heading off to get her suit to help her father.
Sarah is trying to contact her father when the world flickers and a car nearly hits her and Lana. Because no-one is driving it.
Clark and Tal are outside; Clark doesn’t really think Tal can stop Ally by himself. Tal thinks they have no other choice. He’s not fighting for the world so much as Clark and his family. Tal confronts Ally, and that goes about as well as expected. Jordan hears Tal screaming and has to rescue him. Tal admits this was foolish; no-one can defeat Ally. Clark says one can. Him.
Clark doesn’t have any powers, but he wants to jumpstart his cells. He wants to be taken to the Sun. It worked for Tal. Tal points out that was different, and took weeks. That’s why Clark wants Tal to throw him into the Sun. He’s pretty sure their mother was trying to tell him that.
Nat is getting ready; the pod will follow her into the mines, through the portal and into the void.
Lana arrives at the fire station; they haven’t seen Kyle and others are missing. Lana is asked what they should do. Go home and be with their families.
Lois and Sam arrive in town to find Ally’s followers waiting to merge. Chrissy has a device for translating backwards speech. There’s a flicker, and Sam vanishes. Then Chrissy does too. Then a plane crashes into a building. Vehicles are having their pilots and drivers vanish. Then Kyle calls to Lois.
John Henry’s message asked Natalie to fill the pod with X-K, to explode it between the portals. Unfortunately, that part didn’t get through. Their shields are too banged up to return as well.
Natalie and John Henry, and Clark, are each going to try something potentially dangerous and possibly fatal to stop Ally.
There’s a new thread leading into season three.
