“Stronghold” is episode fourteen of season nine of Stargate SG-1.
Mitchell is taking some personal time to see a dying friend, whose injury was caused by saving him. Teal’c and Bra’tac are trying to get a referendum passed that would dissolve the Jaffa council on Dekara and instead require all the council members be elected democratically. This is so that Gerak’s followers can’t cause the Jaffa to swear loyalty to the Ori, even though Gerak himself died defying the Ori by curing the plague in “The Fourth Horseman: Part 2”.
Only, there’s a problem. Council members who are one day for the concept of democracy are the next day opposed, a sudden and unexpected shift. Whilst Bra’tac and Teal’c are investigating, Teal’c is captured. It turns out that Ba’al is brainwashing the council members in order to position himself as the ruler of the Jaffa. Purely for their own protection, of course. The Ori have Ba’al scared, and he wants to unite the Jaffa against them.
SG-1 have to rescue Teal’c, but will they get there before he is brainwashed yet again?
