“Revelations” is episode twenty two of season five of Stargate SG-1 and the season finale.
Osiris has taken one of Anubis’s Ha’taks, protected by the new shields, into an orbit around a planet in violation of the Goa’uld’s treaty with the Asgard. Thor shows up and opens fire, but the Ha’tak’s shields hold. Which means the balance of power has just shifted, as the Asgard can no longer easily destroy the Goa’uld, and they are still at war with the Replicators. If they could concentrate on the Goa’uld, it might be a different story, but the war with the Replicators is not going well.
With Daniel’s Ascension in the previous episode, “Meridian”, SG-1 are looking for a new team member, but they are also trying to deal with Daniel’s loss. Even though he isn’t exactly dead. Not that most of the team seem to accept that.
Freya visits the SGC and tells them that Thor was killed in the battle with Osiris, and the Asgard can no longer enforce the treaty. The Asgard wants SGC to go to the planet where the Goa’uld killed Thor and recover a scientist (Heimdall) who is working there. Heimdall (Teryl Rothery) tells SG-1 that Thor is still alive, but a prisoner.
It’s revealed for the first time that the Asgard are all clones. Anubis appears for the first time, and he appears odd to say the least.
