“Hathor” is episode fourteen of season one of Stargate SG-1.
An excavation of the Temple of the Inscriptions in Palenque, Mexico reveals a sarcophagus bearing Egyptian hieroglyphics and the symbols of the Egyptian goddess Hathor.
The sarcophagus is a healing one, as was seen in the original film, inside which is the Goa’uld Hathor. When it is opened, Hathor emerges and kills those opening it. The empty sarcophagus is shipped to Daniel at Stargate Command.
Hathor herself appears outside Cheyenne Mountain and is arrested, although she is not initially believed to be a Goa’uld. Hathor starts exerting pheromonal control over all of the men in the SGC. The women are immune, and Captain Carter challenges General Hammond to no avail. She and Dr. Frasier (Teryl Rothery) decide to try and neutralise Hathor.
Hathor is one who essentially gives birth to the rest of the Goa’uld race (although this doesn’t seem to play a major role in the future).
Will Hathor return in another episode?
