“Bane” is episode ten of season two of Stargate SG-1.
Whilst SG-1 is exploring an abandoned world, Teal’c is stung by a really big flying bug. The bug’s venom starts to change Teal’c’s DNA and the ever-popular Colonel Maybourne (Tom McBeath) turns up and carts Teal’c away for study. Teal’c escapes, and is at large on Earth whilst being transformed into something. This is a problem for a whole bunch of reasons, and not just because he’s not entirely human and the rest of the planet don’t know about the stargate or the Goa’uld. Having Teal’c land in hospital would be inconvenient to say the least.
(I had to catch this on the repeat as Pick decided to move it an hour earlier and show something else in its place. How anyone was supposed to know about that until they’d actually missed it, I don’t know, as they didn’t bother updating their schedule in any way, shape or form, so even my Freeview+ box got it wrong. I don’t think there would be a huge overlap between people watching SG-1 on Pick and those wanting to watch a documentary about a missing plane at the same time.)
