“Sanctuary for All: Part 2” is episode two of season one of Sanctuary.
In the previous episode, “Sanctuary for All: Part 1”, Dr. Will Zimmerman had been convinced by Dr. Helen Magnus to at least stay on at the Sanctuary for a while. The first thing he does is talk to the boy they found with the strange tentacle growth on him (the boy turns out to be from the Chernobyl region). After talking to him, the boy plays no real role in this episode.
Also looking for the Sanctuary was a tall man called John Druitt. Dr. Magnus found him on some footage just before he killed a prostitute and when he tried to enter the building but was repulsed by a barrier. It turns out, to no great surprise – they are, after all, the only people in the show so far to have British accents – that the two have a history together, and there’s a connection that can easily be seen coming.
Helen’s daughter, Ashley, heads out despite being told not to by her mother to pick up some weapons and runs into Druitt. She manages to ‘defeat’ him and takes him back to the Sanctuary. Given that Druitt was trying to get inside, this defeat seems a little too convenient.
Dr. Magnus reveals her history to Will, including some shared history they have from when he was a child and his mother was killed. Will was uncertain as to whether or not he was willing to stay with the Sanctuary.
