“Episode #1.3” is episode three of season one of Misfits.
The episode opens with Alisha at a club, using her power on any boys she sees.
Possibly the next day, she’s doing her makeup in the locker room as the others are talking about the person who, in the previous episode, claimed they knew. Simon thinks it could be Sally. Nathan asks who that is. Their new probation worker. Nathan replies that she hadn’t turned up until the day after and Kelly agrees with that. Simon suggests he could turn invisible and see if anyone puts anything else in the lockers. Curtis thinks that’s a good idea. Simon says he can’t do it when anyone’s watching. Nathan makes fun of that and the others leave. Simon promptly becomes invisible.
The others are told by a man, Ben, that they need to sort through donated clothes before they are shipped to Africa. He wants to know if they have any questions. After Nathan asks one, Ben corrects that to any relevant questions. But gives an answer anyway. Their initial sorting is more like playing. Simon is sitting in the locker room waiting. Sally brings another girl in, Jodi. That’s the girl Kelly had a fight with. They are to talk. Simon is still waiting. Kelly and Jodi are in Sally’s office. They are not talking. Why did Kelly hit Jodi? That she has no problems with. The ‘restorative justice’ devolves into Jodi slapping Kelly and Kelly headbutting her. That did not go so well. Simon is still waiting.
Alisha questions Curtis about what happened to him. He explains he as buying coke when the police caught him and the girl he was seeing. She had most of the coke and got 6 months. He’s currently not with anyone, to Alisha’s question. She tells him that all she has to do is touch him to make him want her. So, she does. They head to the locker room, and an invisible Simon watches them pass. Afterwards, Curtis is not happy with Alisha. At all. He tells Alisha she needs help and doesn’t even know it.
Alisha is upset by this and Ben offers to listen if she needs someone to talk to. Simon is still waiting. Kelly, Nathan and Curtis head to the locker room, and Simon reappears. He tells them he’s been there all day. And he saw nothing. No-one came in.
Alisha has taken Ben home, and afterwards he doesn’t remember what happened. Simon is chatting online to shygirl18. He asks if she has a boyfriend. Not anymore. Shygirl18 is, of course, not what she seems. She’s actually Sally, and the boyfriend she no longer has was Tony. Nathan’s ridiculous suggestions as to what happened with Tony and Gary likely helped even less than it sounded.
On the way in the next day, Simon is walking under the flyover and sees workers digging roughly where they buried the bodies of Tony and Curtis. He heads to the roof of the community centre, where Nathan is attempting to break a bottle with his mind. Simon finally gets Nathan and Curtis to listen. They’re building an environmental monitoring station under the flyover, and they’re digging up where they buried the bodies.
Simon tells everyone except Kelly they need to move the bodies. Nathan asks how, where and is he out of his mind? Well, if they’re left, they will be found. Nathan thinks wandering around with them is not great either. Does Nathan have a better idea? Yes; Curtis can wind back time before they killed Tony. Curtis agrees – if Nathan shows him how it works. Simon says they need a car. Does he have a car? No. Kelly arrives at this point; she’s been to the doctors and is sporting a different look. The bodies are explained to her and Nathan wants to know if she can get them a car. No, she can’t. Nathan is annoyed; they’re young offenders and none of them know how to steal a car. Alisha offers up her dad’s car. Even though she’s been banned from driving.
Then there’s the question of what to do with the bodies. Nathan suggests boiling them in sulphuric acid. Simon suggests storing them in the community centre until they decide what they are going to do. Nathan has a key to a disused storeroom. Because he’s living there.
As they dig up the bodies, Simon takes a credit card from Tony’s wallet. He has an idea. Kelly has been affected by the power of someone else, though she doesn’t immediately know that’s what happened. Alisha is discovering the downside of her power.
There seems to be a personal connection developing between the power and an individual. For example, Simon feels like he’s invisible, and can now turn invisible. Curtis likely wishes he could turn back time on what he did that wrecked his life, and now he can rewind time. Tony likely had a lot of bottled-up anger.
