“Making Friends and Influencing People” is episode three of season two of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Dr. Whitehall, the HYRDA/Nazi officer seen in the first episode of the season, “Shadows”, back in World War II, has captured a S.H.I.E.L.D. operative called Agent 33 and is trying to indoctrinate her. Whitehall doesn’t appear to have bothered ageing in the meantime; he doesn’t look any older than he did around 70 years ago. He certainly doesn’t look over a 100, which is what he should be.
For the first time this season, we see the real Simmons, rather than the imaginary one Fitz is talking to. She seems to be working in a HYDRA lab, but she’s actually undercover.
HYDRA is trying to grab as much talent as possible. Donnie Gill, last seen in “Seeds” messing with some technology that Fitz and Simmons had created, acquired a freezing power when he was struck by lightning. Both Coulson and HYDRA are going after him.
I wondered when Simmons was going to show up again. It was obvious that she was still in the programme, as she was appearing as a hallucination.
