“Face My Enemy” is episode four of season two of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Coulson has been writing in some sort of alien language, which is kind of worrying. Where did knowledge of this language come from, and what does it mean? There’s a painting that managed to survive a fire at a church in Florida – and it has the same writing on the back.
May and Coulson go to a fund-raiser to restore the church, and the painting is there too. The others in the team don’t know why they are interested in the painting, because they don’t know about the alien writing. Even Coulson doesn’t know why he’s writing in alien languages.
General Talbot is there too – but it seems like he’s working for HYDRA. Is he actually working for the group he is supposed to be destroying, or has he been brainwashed? Or is something else going on?
