“A Fractured House” is episode six of season two of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
General Talbot is giving a speech at the UN in New York about the perils of S.H.I.E.L.D. when the meeting is attacked by people claiming to be working for S.H.I.E.L.D. Of course, they aren’t (although various people do check with Coulson to make sure it wasn’t them).
Talbot’s backer, Senator Ward, wants to launch an all-out war against S.H.I.E.L.D. Talbot is actually less than convinced that S.H.I.E.L.D. is responsible. Senator Ward is Grant Ward’s elder brother, who he said was a nasty piece of work. This was, of course, before Grant himself was discovered to be a traitor, so who to trust?
The new weapons the UN was attacked with are related to the Obelisk, which Skye’s father came to HYDRA with at the end of the previous episode “A Hen in the Wolf House”, after possibly killing Raina. Simmons is also back, along with the undercover S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who helped her escape – who is Hunter’s ex-wife. Lots of tension there (he has mentioned her a few times in the past, and not in a good way).
