“Wingman” is episode three of season three of Manifest.
Vance, who was recovered in the previous episode, “Deadhead”, is being interviewed, linked to a polygraph. He’s told that he may be charged with treason.
Ben, Michaela and Jared are talking about the major and her disappearance, and how her daughter showed up at the precinct. Jared is going to give Saanvi the heads-up, in case the major is planning something. Not knowing that Saanvi is the reason the major has disappeared.
After Jared leaves, Michaela is concerned about Ben. He’s heading to the campus with Olive; TJ sent some Egyptian artefacts. Ben is worried about the metheads and can’t sit still.
Cal sees a peacock in the woods and Ben experiences a calling. He sees artefacts falling and a young man on the ground. And a piece of paper about an 828 chess player, Eagan Tehrani, falls from Ben’s board.
Michaela is speaking to Pete in interview, asking if he believes in fate. That gets a response, with Pete saying the girl at the King Cone, Angelina, knew where and how to find him and was staring at him. Michaela says she was scared of Pete. Pete says she wasn’t, then asks to be taken back to his cell.
Afterwards, Michaela has the same calling she had regarding Evie’s heart.
Cal calls Olive and tells her about the peacock. She tells him about the stained-glass window with peacock feathers she and Angelina found.
Ben finds Eagan in the park. Eagan plays chess for cash and lives off the grid. He had the calling but only saw the art stuff, not the kid. Ben says the kid’s life could be at stake and Eagan checkmates all three games he’s currently playing.
Michaela arrives at Evie’s parents’ house and finds Glen dead on the floor.
Jared visits Saanvi and fills her in about the major and her daughter, then Michaela calls him. After he’s gone, Saanvi sends a message to Vance.
Eagan has a photographic memory and he and Ben piece together what they saw and try to recreate it. Michalea calls Ben about Glen, then Jared and Zeke turn up where she is.
Grace’s brother, Tarik, thinks Cal is lying about seeing a peacock, then has a go at Grace for leaving him to care for his father alone.
Olive and Angelina head to the lab where some artefacts are being processed, scrolls. The student working on them is not exactly happy.
Ben and Eagan work out, thanks to Eagan, where the place they saw was; a self-storage facility where rich people hide things. Vance is still being interviewed and says if they want to lock him up, tell him to his face. Powell is asked if he thinks Vance is telling the truth. He does. There seems to be some kind of connection between Pete and Angelina, and Michaela is dealing with Glen’s death and what to do with Beverly.
