Harley Quinn – Finding Mr. Right

“Finding Mr. Right” is episode four of season one of Harley Quinn.

Ivy and her plants are cleaning her apartment when Harley, Dr Psycho and Clayface show up. In the previous episode, “So, You Need A Crew?”, Harley recruited the latter two for her crew and they have just robbed a bank. Harley is rather hyper about the experience and breaks Ivy’s coffee table with the loot. She’s sure it will be on the news. Every channel is showing how Batman stopped the Joker from robbing a credit union; Dr Psycho considers those to be a poor person’s bank. Clayface suggests that they will be the last, most compelling story. No; that’s about ferrets. Harley breaks the television. The ninth in the two weeks she’s been there, according to Ivy.

Ivy points out that they are committing serious felonies and don’t actually want people to know who they are. Harley decides that the reason they aren’t front page news is because no-one is trying to stop them. She needs a nemesis, and thanks Ivy for the advice. That’s not the advice Ivy was giving.

There’s a website to get a nemesis, but no-one is biting. And Ivy’s landlord is not happy with what’s going on and threatens to throw her out. There’s another knock at the door and a sharkman is standing there. Harley breaks her bat on the shark before Clayface intervenes. He called King Shark over; hacker extraordinaire and social media maven. He’s going to solve their nemesis problem.

King Shark hacks the site and gets Harley featured. She gets a bite, but doesn’t want Tommy Tomorrow who can only fight on weekends. King Shark warns her she won’t get any A-listers on that site. Harley decides she needs Batman. Ivy reminds Harley she’s fought Batman multiple times and always wound up in Arkham. Harley has an idea.

That idea is jacking the Batmobile. She tells Clayface and Psycho that the car is voice activated and she spliced recordings of Batman’s voice together. Then Clayface is yanked up by a grapnel. Harley wants to make a good, evil, first impression on Batman. However, it’s Robin who has shown up. He thinks Harley is really old. Like, 30. She hangs him on a hook. Later, Robin appears on Tawny’s show and claims that Harley asked him to be her nemesis.

Ivy thinks Robin is adorable. Harley breaks Ivy’s new table and Ivy admits that’s one on her; she should have known that would put Harley in a smashy mood. Harley wants a nemesis with hair on their chest. This apparently rules out Batman, according to Ivy; Catwoman says he waxes. Lois Lane has written an article saying that Harley fighting a child has put the evil woman movement back decades. The rest of the article is behind a paywall. Harley decides to kidnap Lois and make her retract her article. She’ll also gain Superman as a nemesis.

With an extremely not bothered Lois captured, Harley has Clayface live stream the fight with Superman. Who assumes that Harley is mad about the paywall too. He’s going to leave Harley to Robin. Superman think he’s the cutest.

Harley is not happy, especially as the Joker has sent a bunch of stuff to Ivy’s including a card congratulating her for ‘Robin’ the cradle. Harley is going to kill Robin. Ivy says she can’t. No, when Harley explains, she didn’t mean Harley wasn’t physically capable of doing so. It would just validate her as Robin’s nemesis. And make her a child killer, according to the others, which might be worse.

Harley keeps taking Ivy’s advice, in completely the opposite way to which it is intended. King Shark says he isn’t good with blood. He’s right. And there’s a call back to Batman: The Movie starring Adam West.
