“Many Happy Returns” is episode two of season one of Eureka.
After the events of the first episode, “Pilot”, Jack Carter has been recruited as the new sheriff of Eureka, at the recommendation of the previous one. Who is actually a major in Army Intelligence. His deputy isn’t that happy with this.
Jack is trying to settle in to his new job, but lacks a place to live – until Fargo offers him an experimental smart house. Or bunker, given that it’s underground.
One of the first orders of business is burying Walter and Susan Perkins. Walter vanished after his tachyon device went wrong, and Susan apparently committed suicide. Although she was actually murdered by Beverley, who was connected to the group that got Walter his supplies.
Then Susan Perkins turns up, very much alive. Even though they have her body, which is quite definitely dead. There are also reports of a ghost haunting the town. There’s also a new head of the Global Dynamics plant, Allison’s husband from whom she is separated.
You also get the feeling that Jack’s daughter may turn up again.
