“Saga of a Star World: Part 2” is the second part of what was the original pilot movie for the classic series of Battlestar Galactica that is now generally shown in three parts.
Apollo and Boomer are heading back on a shuttle and contacting Galactica to ask about food. They’re told there’s no information. Colonel Tigh contacts Commander Adama and tells him it’s starting. Starbuck is in the back of the shuttle talking to Cassiopeia; she explains what her profession is and why someone on the ship didn’t like it. Starbuck joins Apollo and Boomer; there are rumours of contaminated rations.
Centurions report to the Imperious Leader on a Cylon basestar that a handful of ships escaped destruction and rendezvoused with a battlestar. The Imperious Leader wants a message delivered to Count Baltar; either he delivers the battlestar or his head.
On the Rising Star, Serina wants Apollo to speak to her son, Boxey. He’s upset about losing his pet daggit in the attack.
Boomer is confronting a private guard outside Sure Uri’s quarters on the same ship, drawing his gun as Apollo arrives. He and Apollo enter and tell Sire Uri that the food will be distributed to the others that need it.
Scouts report in that there’s no sign of Cylon pursuit.
At a meeting of the Council of the Twelve, Adama wants to head to Carillon for supplies. Sire Uri wants to head to another planet that is the logical choice. Too logical, according to Adama; the Cylons will be waiting. Apollo, who was watching with Boomer and Starbuck, interrupts. He proposes using the direct route to Carillon as the Cylons won’t be guarding it. Because it’s mined. Apollo says the fleet can go through after Apollo and one or two volunteers – Boomer and Starbuck know who that will be – take Vipers through ahead of the fleet and destroy the mines. The Council approves.
Afterwards, Apollo speaks to his father. Adama isn’t that happy and they talk about Uri, who apparently used to be a better person than he is now; Adama voted for him.
Starbuck is definitely interested in Cassiopeia, and it looks mutual. Adama is getting worn down by the demands of preserving the survivors of the Colonies. Apollo is dealing with Boxey and Serina.
