Battlestar Galactica – Exodus: Part 2

“Exodus: Part 2” is episode four of season three of the new Battlestar Galactica.

On Pegasus, Dee is filling Apollo in on various matters. In the previous episode, “Exodus: Part 1”, Adama told Apollo to take Pegasus with the civilian fleet and to find Earth. Dee reassures him that his father has pulled off more than a few miracles. Apollo says he hasn’t given up hope; Dee disagrees. She saw the look on his face when he came back from Galactica. It was as if he’d never see his father again. Apollo says his father is taking too much on with one half-strength battlestar. None of them are coming back. Dee says they need to make plans for the future, because if they don’t, there will be no-one left to remember them. Their charge is to keep humanity going. She manages to convince Apollo he can do this.

Anders is telling Tigh that he lost three men and it would have been worse if not for the sergeant, thanks to Ellen. If Boomer had been killed, they wouldn’t have got the launch keys and the Cylons would know they were in communication with Galactica. He tells Tigh that Tigh knows what needs to be done and if he doesn’t do it, someone else will.

Tigh is with Ellen; she says she did it for him. She got him out of detention and explains how. She did it to save him. And she’d do it again. Ellen takes a drink from Tigh; by the looks of it she knows what it is. She drinks and Tigh tells her to go to sleep. It looks to have been poisoned.

On Colonial One, Gaius is telling the Cylons he told them this would happen, but they are too smug in their own superiority to even consider defeat. Both Roslin and Zarek are at large and are likely solidifying the insurgency. D’Anna asks what he would have them do. Gaius would have them leave. D’Anna asks and then what. Would they leave the Cylons to live in peace? Or would they fill their children with dreams of vengeance? Gaius says blood for blood has to stop one day. And explosions start outside.

Tory is directing people when Maya comes over with Hera. Tory assigns a couple of guards to get her to a ship. Anders’ people are grabbing guns and he’s telling them what to do.

A squadron of Raptors and Vipers from Galactica is lurking in the nebula around New Caprica. Drones are deployed and they give the signature of two battlestars.

On Colonial One, Boomer tells the others that two battlestars have jumped into orbit. Adama is back.

The drones are heading towards two basestars and Racetrack tells Kat that they are launching Raiders. The Raptors leave.

Leoben is leaving Starbuck. She wants to know what’s going on. He says he will be back. She tries to stop him from locking her and Kacey in, but he knocks her out.

Roslin is with Zarek; he asks if she’s coming with. No; her ship is there. Zarek says she has a sense of the dramatic. He grabs Jammer, who denies doing anything, and tells him to guard Roslin.

Galactica is getting ready for a low jump. D’Anna report that the basestars have reported the battlestars are decoys. She asks Gaius where Galactica is.

Tigh and Tyrol are pinned down with their people outside the shipyard by Centurions, when Galactica jumps into the atmosphere above them and is coming down fast. Galactica launches its Vipers, then jumps out again not that far above the ground. The Vipers shoot the Centurions, allowing access to the shipyard.

Things are getting messy and even at best Galactica is not really a match for two basestars. Though the atmospheric FTL jump and Viper launch certainly caught the Cylons by surprise.
