“The Frenemy of My Enemy” is episode eighteen of season two of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
At the end of the previous episode, “Melinda”, Fitz – who had left the base – had cracked Nick Fury’s toolbox and made contact with Coulson, Hunter and Mike Peterson. The fact that the toolbox back at the base is a fake is going to come to light anyway, so Simmons tells May this.
May asks Simmons to tap into Mike Peterson’s feed to see what is happening. Given that Coulson is going to make a deal with Grant Ward and Agent 33, in order to get close to the new leaders of HYDRA, Baron Strucker and Dr. List, and that Bakshi is going to be used as a go-between, you just know that Simmons is going to be successful at the worst possible time.
Jiaying is planning to dump Cal away from Afterlife, but Skye is concerned that he will become violently upset when that happens – as he isn’t, by his own acknowledgement, that stable these days. Which is not exactly a huge surprise to anyone who’s watched him.
